This is an altar built before Jesus, for the season He has led, is leading, and will lead me through. The art I have made for this project is the altar; my life is the sacrifice I gratefully and continually lay before Him who is ever guiding me homeward. 

As you experience this collection of songs and other art, a season might just come to mind for you. Maybe it’s one you’ll remember, which you’ve walked through recently, or not-so-recently. Perhaps it’s one you imagine may come knocking on your door someday. Or, as you’re reading these words right now, you may find it’s the season you’re currently in…the kind where nothing feels the right way up anymore, inside and out. And everything in you wants to run home, but home feels nowhere to be found. 

I hope and pray that as you engage with this art, this altar…you’ll truly meet The Shepherd who has been guiding me. 

Each song corresponds with a day of the week - and they are meant to be listened to in order. They are, in a sense, the building blocks of the altar I’ve built. However you can start anytime you choose. Spend as little or as long as you’d like with each song, each step of the project. There may be a verse of scripture, a sermon, or another art form to consider/reflect on in addition to the songs.
